Machining Development Program 2024
SSB officially concluded the CSR Machining Development Program (MDP) held at the Training Center in Balikpapan, Samarinda, and Sebamban. During the OJT period, participants will receive training to develop independence and discipline, similar as a full-time employee. Additionally, OJT provides an opportunity for participants to face real-world challenges they may encounter in their future careers. We hope all MDP participants will complete the OJT phase with satisfying results.
2024Welder Juara 2023
SSB has successfully held 2023 Welder Juara Competition. A national competition that brings together competent and reliable SSB Welders from all operational areas of the company. Welder Juara Competition was attended by 42 Welder from 12 SSB operational areas, namely Cikupa, Balikpapan, Sebamban, South Kalimantan, Samarinda, Berau, Sangatta, Bengalon, Sumbawa, Java Sumatra, Kuala Kencana, and Grasberg. Participants are assessed based on aspects of work, technical ability, character, integrity and safety. After judging, 3 Welder Juara were selected from Sumbawa, Cikupa, and Tanjung area.
January 2020Industrial Visit: ITS at SSB Plant Balikpapan
Strengthening Industry Academia Collaboration: ITS Visits SSB Balikpapan SSB Balikpapan welcomed a visit from Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), specifically from the Faculty of Industrial Technology and Systems Engineering – Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. A total of 3 lecturers and 8 students attended to gain in-depth insights into the service processes that are part of sustainable engineering solutions at SSB. Through this visit, we hope to continue supporting collaboration between industry and educational institutions in nurturing future talents who are reliable and ready to face industrial challenges
Industrial Visit: SMKN 1 Balikpapan at SSB Plant Balikpapan
Strengthening Industry Academia Collaboration: SMKN 1 Balikpapan Visits SSB Plant SSB Plant Balikpapan welcomed an industrial visit from SMKN 1 Balikpapan, aimed at providing students with direct insights and hands-on experience in machining and welding processes that meet industry standards. Accompanied by the Vice Principal, Mr. Sigit Purwanto, along with 21 teachers, 108 students had the opportunity to observe firsthand the technologies and work practices applied in the industrial world. SSB hopes this visit will inspire and prepare students to face future challenges in the workforce. Thank you to SMKN 1 Balikpapan for your visit! Industrial Visit: SMKS KODECO at SSB Plant
Guest Lecture by SSB at SMKS Kodeco: Welding Defects and Inspection Techniques SSB had the opportunity to serve as a Guest Lecturer at SMKS Kodeco, Simpang Empat, on Monday, June 2, 2025. The session was attended by 69 Grade XI students majoring in Welding Engineering. The material presented included an introduction to various types of welding defects in theory, as well as handson practice in inspecting workpieces using the dye penetrant test method. This activity is expected to provide students with additional technical knowledge and experience to help prepare them for future competition in the workforce.
Industrial Visit: SMKN 1 Simpang Empat at SSB Plant Sebamban
Strengthening Industry Academia Collaboration: SMKN 1 Simpang Empat Visits SSB Plant A total of 34 students, accompanied by supervising teachers from SMKN 1 Simpang Empat, visited the SSB Plant Sebamban. This activity aimed to introduce students to industrial work culture and broaden their knowledge, particularly in the subjects of Welding Engineering and Creative Projects & Entrepreneurship. During the visit, students received guidance from their teachers and were directly supervised by SSB personnel. Thank you for the visit and your incredible enthusiasm. We hope the knowledge and experience gained will be a valuable asset for the future.
